Westminster City School’s aspiring Journalist, Joel, commented on his results saying:

“I am really proud of myself and very happy with the outcome of my GCSE results. My next step is to study A-Levels at Westminster City School Sixth Form because over the past five years I have witnessed first-hand the high quality of learning at the Sixth Form and the friendly atmosphere which makes it the best option for me. I will study English Literature, History and Spanish as these are the subjects I thoroughly enjoy and they are also linked to what I would like to do in the future.”

Barney, who was filled with excitement as he opened results added:

“I am super happy with my GCSE grades and very pleased that all the hard work over the last two years has paid off. I will be studying Maths, Economics, Politics and Further Maths at Westminster City School’s Sixth Form. I have chosen to stay at this Sixth Form primarily because I know that the standard of teaching is extremely high which will help me to excel in the Sixth Form and perform at my best, academically. Additionally, the opportunities that are available to students in the Sixth Form is vast and I am very fortunate that I will be in a great place to be able to grab hold of all the opportunities due to the fact that this school is in the heart of London.”

A majority of this year’s Year 11s have now enrolled in our popular 6th Form.

Headteacher, Peter Broughton, said:

“The GCSE Class of 2023’s overall performance is exceptional with many outstanding individual outcomes and I’m delighted to see that they have made significant progress since arriving in Year 7. As a group they have collectively worked exceptionally hard and have been driven to new heights by a truly dedicated, inspirational and supportive group of teaching and support staff. It is a momentous day and the result of an impressive team effort. As I began leading the school in January 2018, this is the first GCSE cohort that I have seen through their entire time at Westminster City School and I am very proud of them all.”

Deputy Headteacher, Jen Lockyer, said:

“Most of our Year 11 students have been at Westminster City School since Year 7 and it has been wonderful to see them develop, grow and learn over the last five years. I am so proud of the hard work and resilience they have demonstrated, particularly over the last couple of years, and I look forward to seeing many complete their seven-year journey with us, by joining our Sixth Form this autumn.”
