Year 13 student Jesaiah who attends Westminster City School's Sixth Form had a very productive and busy summer engaging in numerous opportunities which were offered to him through the Amos Bursary.
Commenting on his summer experience, Jesaiah provided an overview of his itinerary saying:
“During the summer I completed two days’ work experience at PwC. This was specifically with my Amos Bursary mentor in the consulting department at PwC, where I learnt about what consulting is and received insight into how consulting firms provide services to other businesses to help their operations.
“These two days were absolutely amazing, as I was able to see other aspects of the financial services industry I have been exposed to.
“Secondly, I visited Barings Bank during the summer which is one of England’s oldest merchant banks. Here, we learnt about asset management and the different roles available in financial institutions and the best routes of entry such as an Economics Degree or a Degree Apprenticeship.
“There was also a networking session where I had the opportunity to discuss my CV and interview tips with various professionals at Barings Bank. This was very beneficial for me to gain feedback from professionals in the career I would like to work in. I would advise people to join Barings talent network for more opportunities which is open to all Sixth Form students.
“I am also grateful to be a part of the Amos Bursary Scheme as it has given me so many opportunities which are helping me to build a portfolio of experiences and life skills.”
