BackDebate Club's trip to Parliament
Westminster City School's Debate Club recently visited the Palace of Westminster to participate in a panel discussion hosted by a debating charity which focused on the importance of debating in state-funded schools.
These seasoned debaters from Westminster City School were the stars of the show as they responded swiftly to the challenge of panel member, renowned journalist, and former director of communications for Tony Blair, Alastair Campbell, to speak for one minute on what they would change in politics.
Guillaume (Year 9), Sebastian (Year 9), and Sarah (Year 12) were awarded a signed copy of Alastair’s new book titled 'But What Can I Do?' for their impressive contributions during the evening. Further congratulations and well done to Hameeda (Year 12) who also asked a fantastic question to the panel on the importance of debating in education.
