BackBut What Can I Do? Guest Speaker, Alastair Campbell
Former Number 10 press secretary, journalist, now writer, consultant strategist and mental health campaigner, Alastair Campbell, visited Westminster City School on Tuesday 27 June to speak to students in Years 9 and 12 about the importance of politics.

The above quote was quoted in Alastair Campbell's talk as he addressed Westminster City School students in Years 9 and 12. These students were left feeling empowered to ensure that their voices are heard in today's society. Students were able to ask questions covering a wide range of topics from elections to climate change and football to newspapers.
Year 8 student Sebastian, who orchestrated the visit and invited Alastair to Westminster City School commented:
“The visit from Mr Campbell was very exciting. His experiences and wisdom in politics provided an insight on politics.”
Year 11 student Joel, who is interested in journalism added:
“It is an absolute privilege to be able to learn from one of the most respected names in politics, Alastair Campbell. His visit provided a unique perspective on various critical issues and has definitely inspired me to engage and help solve the issues rooted deep within our society today and in the future."
Mr Quinn, Teacher of History at Westminster City School said:
“I would like to thank Alastair for his interest in and enthusiasm for the political literacy of our students.
“As well as delivering an excellent talk to students in Years 9 and 12, Alastair spent some time with members of our debate club discussing the big issues of the day and donated signed copies of his new book entitled ‘But What Can I Do?’
“A massive thank you as well to Sebastian for contacting Alastair and inviting him to speak to our school community.”
