The Lord Mayor's Parlour, City Hall

30 June 2023

Students in Years 8 and 9 visited The Lord Mayor's Parlour, City Hall, on Victoria Street to compete in the ‘Unloc Big Enterprise Competition’ with other schools in Westminster.

Unloc is an organisation that works with schools to inspire, motivate and develop entrepreneurship in young people.

Chiedozie, who had the privilege of visiting City Hall said:

“The event was very interesting, I learnt quite a large amount about the process of pitching a business idea and getting it off the ground. Personally, I enjoyed collaborating with my teammates and the free reign I had over the presentation while also co-running different aspects of the plan, including marketing and advertising.

"It was very invigorating and the fact that we were close to winning made me every bit happier!”

Stephen, who is in Year 8 added:

“It was fun and enjoyable to work as a team to solve real life problems. Our group had to overcome various challenges and setbacks, but we made it work and took second place.

"The awards that we won were for branding and collaboration. My role was the CDO (Chief design officer) which involved creating the logo and making a presentation.”

Aman, who is in Year 9 said:

"The Unloc competition was definitely a competition to remember. Not only did we get to be present in City Hall, but we also came second. I also appreciated being mentored by Oli and Andy, they were great and gave me an insight into various business strategies."
