We interviewed a number of our students in Year 12 who have shared their experiences of what it is like to study at Westminster City School’s Sixth Form.

Why did you choose to enrol at Westminster City School’s Sixth Form?

I chose Westminster City School’s Sixth Form because of the location and the many opportunities. For instance, the Sixth Form is surrounded by a wide range of finance companies who provide lots of opportunities for lectures and events. Moreover, the school receives funding from Polar Capital by means of the Polar Capital Aspire Scheme, which is an excellent opportunity for me and many other prospective students to have a chance to win a scholarship for a 3-year university degree. Lastly, the A-Level results in August 2022 were one of the best in London which was a great deciding factor.

What are your future plans and aspirations?

My plans after Sixth Form is to get into Medical School at either UCL, Imperial College London or King’s College London. After completing Medical School, I would like to specialise in Paediatrics.

How did you find the transition from secondary school to Westminster City School’s Sixth Form?

The transition was very smooth, the induction events at Westminster City School’s Sixth Form really helped with my transition into the Sixth Form. The work given at the start of the term was not overwhelming at all; we had introductory lessons which really helped with my understanding of how different the subjects would be, so I knew how to best deal with any obstacles.

What are your impressions of the Sixth Form?

The Sixth Form provides a great place to learn and I enjoy coming in every day. My overall experience so far has been enhanced due to the excellence of the teachers and I really enjoy their teaching style. It is very welcoming, rigorous and productive environment where teachers are easy to talk to and lessons are enjoyable.

Why would you recommend prospective students to join Westminster City School’s Sixth Form?

I would recommend Westminster City School’s Sixth Form to prospective students because it is a great Sixth Form with such a welcoming environment. You will feel like you fit in immediately and the support from the teachers around you is absolutely amazing.

What makes Westminster City School’s Sixth Form special?

Westminster City School provides many opportunities for various career pathways. The school has the pathways to Law, Medicine, and Finance programmes which is open to all students who are considering a career in any of those fields. These programmes are beneficial for any students who wish to go into those fields as it helps to provide a wider insight and strengthen their confidence when choosing a course at university. It is encouraging to know that we are supported in all aspects during our two years at Westminster City School’s Sixth Form.
