Why did you choose to enrol at Westminster City School’s Sixth Form?
I chose to enrol at Westminster City School’s Sixth Form because it is close to home which makes it an easy commute. Additionally, the feedback from my friends who were already students at the Sixth Form were extremely positive which was a contributing factor in my decision.
What are your future plans and aspirations?
At this stage, I am still uncertain about studying at university. Nevertheless, if I pursue the route of higher education, my top choices would be Loughborough University London or Keele University.
My main option would be to do a degree apprenticeship.
How did you find the transition from secondary school to Westminster City School’s Sixth Form?
The transition from secondary school to Westminster City School’s Sixth Form is a very big step because the workload is more than that at GCSE level. Personally, I've gone from doing at least 1 hour of revision per week during Year 11 to now doing an additional 20 hours or more of private independent study. This is essential for me as it has been difficult to adapt, nevertheless I’m getting more familiar with all A Levels each day and understanding what is required of me to succeed.
What are your impressions of the Sixth Form?
One aspect of the Sixth Form that I like is the independent study area. This provision allows us to focus solely on the task at hand with assistance from the dedicated Sixth Form team who are available to help with any issues. This isn’t something that is provided for A Level student at all Sixth Forms and colleges.
Why would you recommend prospective students to join Westminster City School’s Sixth Form?
Year 11 students who are considering their post-16 options should join Westminster City School’s Sixth Form because it has a good environment to learn and try new things. Additionally, various opportunities are offered to students on a daily basis to help with personal and academic growth.
