BackBlack History Month Speakers Series
This week at Palace Street, Westminster City School welcomed more speakers who spoke about their journey and what celebrating Black History Month means to them personally.
On Monday 9 October, Tunji Akintokun who is the Senior Director, Head of Enterprise Solutions, UK and Ireland at LinkedIn gave a keynote speech accompanied with a Q&A session to Year 12 and Year 13 students at Westminster City School. He encouraged the students in the audience to gain sufficient knowledge because 'knowledge gives you the power to take risks'.
Tunji commented on his visit to Westminster City School saying:
"I really enjoyed the discussion and seeing that 'light-bulb' moment from many students made my day. Thank you for the invitation."
Additionally, It was also an absolute pleasure to have Michael Hall, CEO of the Thebes Group, Andrew Royal, Finance Consultant, and Angela Royal, PR Specialist, join us on Friday 13 October to speak with all of our KS3 students as part of our Black History Month Speakers series.
The session was highly engaging where students heard about their careers and key lessons they have learnt over the years. It was an amazing morning where students asked a variety of questions regarding the advice they would give their younger selves and what their greatest achievements are.
