BackWestminster City School and 2-3 Degrees
Students in Year 13 at Westminster City School had the privilege to take part in a three-element course with '2-3 Degrees' which included workshops about have a growth mindset. '2-3 Degrees' is a social enterprise exist to inspire and equip young people with the skills and experience needed to make positive decisions and fulfill their potential.
The workshops ran over a few consecutive weeks in different locations including British Land and Microsoft; which provided students with insight on a variety of professions and what a professional environment looks like. Additionally, students were able to attend numerous networking events, including the Westminster Property Association Launch as representatives for 2-3 Degrees.
Balqis, who has been involved in the workshop with 2-3 Degrees said:
"The past few weeks has been fun. I have really enjoyed meeting new people my age and I really appreciated their words of encouragement and advice regarding building my LinkedIn page.
"The penultimate element was the work experience provided. I was able to do work experience at The Guardsman Hotel which is only a short walk from our school. My duties involved serving customers, replenishing amenities and working in the reception.
"I can confidently say that I have gained new skills and learnt so much from the opportunities provided through 2-3 Degrees."
