BackFinal Victory Over Paddington Academy!
Congratulations to Westminster City School’s Year 8 football team on their thrilling 1-0 cup final victory over Paddington Academy!
Westminster City School started the match with energy and confidence, dominating the early stages of the match. The Paddington Academy goalkeeper was kept busy, making a series of impressive saves to keep the score level. However, the relentless pressure from Westminster City School’s team ultimately paid off when Alexi S blasted a ferocious half-volley from the edge of the box into the net, securing the lead.
In the second half, Paddington Academy responded by attacking in greater numbers, determined to find an equaliser. However, Westminster City School’s team defence remained organised and committed, proving to be a solid barrier that was impossible for them to break down.
Mr Williams-Parker, Director of Sport at Westminster City School, said:
“This cup final victory is a testament to the hard work, resilience and talent, displayed throughout the season. The Year 8 team exemplifies what can be achieved through dedication and teamwork.
“Looking ahead, the team will now turn its attention to the London Cup, where they are set to face Haverstock School in the second round. We wish them the best of luck as they continue their journey!”
