BackA Visit to Imperial College London
On Wednesday 8 January, seventeen Year 13 students from Westminster City School visited Imperial College London labs to carry out tests on inorganic ions such as ammonium ions, carbonate ions, and hydroxide ions.
These students worked incredibly well both in teams and as individuals conducting testing experiments to identify known and unknown substances. They developed their practical skills and chemical subject knowledge ahead of their upcoming Year 13 Spring assessments and A Level examinations this Summer.
Additionally, they also had the opportunity to speak to current Masters and PhD students from Imperial College London to further their knowledge of academic research life, preparing for their first year of university, and support with upcoming university interviews. They were described by members of Imperial College London staff as "mature and aspirational individuals", and in particular one researcher was "incredibly impressed with" Gasim Z, Abdul R-F, Raven A and Nadia B.
